- Hand Embellished Giclee on Canvas 30" x 40" & 18" x 24" Edition of 275
Artist Notes:
"The many faces of orchids are fascinating and mysterious to me. Despite their delicate appearance, the
tenacious orchid species predated and outlived the dinosaur and has adapted and evolved to survive on every
continent in the world except for Antarctica. They are among the oldest flowering plants on the earth. When I
painted this portrait of the Paphiopedilum, more commonly known as the Lady Slipper orchid, my intention was
to show its majestic, yet animal-like nature. I constructed the composition almost architecturally, designing
space and time."
