Artist Notes:
“This painting is the Orchid Alliance Project-Bridging Art & Science in action and advances my mission of using my orchid art to
create awareness for nature’s beauty and diversity. My paintings are intended to stimulate new ways of thinking about cultural and
environmental issues and to further global stewardship. I was commissioned to paint this stunning orchid, Paphiopedilum
Crystelle (Double Trix x rothschildianum), which is part of one of finest orchid collections in the United States - June’s Orchid Estate
in Florida. It symbolizes the collective passion orchids continue to inspire worldwide and the intense desire to create flowers that
expand the boundaries of size, color, shape, and form. The over 130,000 orchid hybrids now being created globally are living proof of
the power and fascination of orchids.
